We are a dedicated committee from the parish near O’Neill’s native home place of Tralibane, Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland who have erected a life-size bronze monument depicting Captain Francis O’Neill playing a flute as a memorial.

Tunes and songs picked up from his parents and visiting musicians at the family home in West Cork that were to form the basis of one of the most remarkable collections of Irish music, published in the early years of the last century. The Music of Ireland (1903), was compiled and edited in Chicago by O’Neill (1848-1936).
The O’Neill Co. want to remind all their supporters that owing to Covid-19 regulations the Annual Open-Air Mid Summer Platform dancing at Trailibane has been cancelled for this year.
Other events such as Ceili’s are also postponed until further notice. The Company were planning to celebrate their 25th Anniversary on September 6th. in conjunction with the Annual O’Neill Walk. That will depend on the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted.
